I met Mary Janice (Jan) Ridinger on 27Apr66 in Morehead City, NC - married her 95 days later on 31Jul66. Jan was in the USCGR Oct78 - Jan93 (YN3 - YNC). She was awarded the CG District 13 (r) Reserve Unit's Outstanding Enlisted Member in 1990 and the U. S. Dept. of Transportation's Secretary's Award for Excellence in 1991. Jan passed away of cancer in Jan93. We were married for 26 1/2 years.

	Son Joe III - born Jun 1967 at Fort Meade Army Hospital, Baltimore, MD - Graduated from North Ridgeville, Ohio High School in 1985, the USCG Academy in 1989, received his Masters in Computer Sciences from the University of Illinois in 1996. He got out of the Coast Guard in Jan 2000 and then got an MBA at Columbia University in New York City. Worked as a broadband streaming internet consult during the summer of 2000. During the latter part of 2000 and first half of 2001, was CTO of Zugo.com, a Latin American teen web portal based in Mexico City. He worked for the consulting firm of McKinsey & Co. of Stamford, CT and now works for Microsoft in Redmond, WA. He married Jie Liu in 2004, represented Microsoft in Shanghai / Beijing, China 2006-2008 and now lives in Redmond, WA with their son Jake (who was born in Shanghai in Mar08).

	Daughter Joleen A. - born Jun1970 at Navy Hospital Portsmouth, VA - Graduated from Lynnwood, Washington High School in 1988, Edmonds Community College in 1991 with Associate of Arts and Sciences degree, and Central Washington University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. She is currently living and working in Las Vegas, NV and furthering her education by taking an extension course through the University of Washington.
